Monotony didn't both him these days, having the benefit of insanity to ensure he was never truly alone. No, what bothered Rowan was the waiting, unsure whether the next person to walk through the door was his executioner. [break][break]

It was with some relief when Tempest Quinn stood before him, finding solace in knowing exactly what was bound to come his way. "Tempest." Rowan pushed himself up from the ground, attempting poorly to hide the pain he was in. "I told you he'd come, Andy." He appeared to be speaking to an empty corner, childish contrition in his voice as he seemed to slip into a memory of Andy Blackadder long since passed.[break][break]

A thousand yard stare consumed Rowan for moments, before he returned with the blink of an eye, glancing towards his brother-in-law. "Come to deal out some punishment like the rest?"

There was a time where he was so sure that he had Tempest pegged, but that didn't seem to be the case anymore. "It's good to see you Tempest."[break][break]

It wasn't a lie, even though it sounded like one. This was the man who had claimed his brother's heart, who expanded his already dwindling family. Perhaps he should have given them more of a chance, been more understanding with them instead of seeing only another parasite looking to sink their teeth into Cillian. To be fair, his brother had a terrible track record in romance.[break][break]

"You're not special for doing that. You just ran the wrong direction." Tempest took a few steps towards the cell. Just out of arm's reach, but he cocked his head to the side and frowned down at Rowan Wrynn. A pensive pity lined his features for a moment before he glanced away.[break][break]

"if Cil thinks you're still useful, then you're still useful."[break][break]

It's said with utter confidence.[break][break]

Then followed by a thick silence.[break][break]

Tempest breaks it with a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. He glances upward for a few long moments, brow furrowed, then reaches out to scan his thumb over a mechanism. It beeps approvingly before the door clicks and creaks open an inch or so.[break][break]

"You're still a prisoner." Is warned, Temp narrowing his gaze on the other with intent.[break][break]

Then he steps back, raises an arm to invite Rowan out of the door his cell is held in.[break][break]

"Come on."

He was right to be cautious, considering half the submarine wanted him dead, and the other half wouldn't say anything if he ended up that way.[break][break]

Regardless of who may or may not have wanted Rowan Wrynn dead, no one would fuck with him while he was with Tempest. Temp outranked most people anyway. People knew that if they fucked with him he would beat their ass.[break][break]

Tempest doesn't answer Rowan, though. But soon the familiar space of the training facility would come into view. A few Grunts and Executives who were training glanced at the two of them but Temp did not spare them a glance. He only walked over to a private room and opened it up. He waited by the door, eyes on Rowan until he went inside.[break][break]

The door would close behind them with a finality.[break][break]

This was Tempest's 'office'. He grabbed some knuckle wraps and started to put them on.[break][break]

The implication of this walk didn't seem lost on the grunts, whispers of his demise echoing quietly off the metal corridors of the submarine. Yet, Rowan knew fully well that if Tempest wanted him dead, there would be no theater involved, only darkness.[break][break]

As the door closed, his confusion compounded, watching his brother-in-law begin wrapping their wrists. "You want to fight?" He asked, slightly incredulously. Fist fighting was far from Rowan's expertise, but he wasn’t about to disobey and end up sucker punched for it. [break][break]

As requested, his fists rose in a defensive posture.

Temp doesn't answer Rowan Wrynn in words, but with action. After a moment of the other putting his hands up Temp unleashes a swift jab at Rowan's face. He's hunched over, his own arms squared as he shuffles along the floor on bouncing feet. This is a proper boxer's stance; not the loose and rumble street fighting he usually showed off on the field.[break][break]

For whatever reason, it seemed that Tempest wanted a clean fight.[break][break]

Eyes narrowed, Tempest tried to communicate... something with his expression. But it was unclear given the current climate.

An opening had been created, but should he really throw a punch of his own? Rowan was a prisoner, one whose life was balanced on the razor edge of a knife, teetering precariously on the word of declan walsh.[break][break]

Then again, it would only serve to insult Tempest if he didn't. Rowan saw the look in their eye, this was supposed to be a reciprocal fight, one that his brother-in-law most likely intended to win. Tempest wanted to beat sense into him. [break][break]

"Okay then..." He muttered under his breath, breaking stance to swing a right-hook in the direction of Tempest's mid-section.

The swing lands with a meaty sound, but not to Tempest's gut. Arms move low so the punch smacks against them instead of his more vulnerable parts.[break][break]

"I know you can do better than that. Put some fucking teeth into your punches."[break][break]

Tempest follows that up by doing just that, trying to arc a low jab directly into Rowan Wrynn's guts.[break][break]

This may have been a more fair boxing match that normal, but it seemed like Temp wasn't going to play nice after all.

“Tempest-…” An appeal to reason was met with a swift blow to the stomach, forcing the air out of Rowan’s lungs and sending him stumbling backward. [break][break]

Rowan’s fists clenched tight with frustration, at Tempest and the situation he was in. He’d paid his price, he’d been killed for his misguided betrayal and that still wasn’t enough. [break][break]
He moved forward with a vigor that had been absent before, forgoing any sort of technique to swing punch after punch in Tempest’s direction with wild abandon.

Strike after strike was sent his way. Tempest couldn't shake all of them off; many were blocked, yes, but just as many struck true. Tempest just grunted at each one. For now he didn't try to strike back, just allowed Rowan Wrynn to vent frustrations on his body. He would have a few bruises later. That was fine.[break][break]

A swift crack was suddenly launched out directly at Rowan's jaw.[break][break]

Regardless if it hit or not, regardless of whatever damage it might cause, Tempest spoke one a growled demand.[break][break]
